Treasures of the Danube Itinerary

Day 1 - Vienna (Austria)

Explore the endless treasures of Vienna on a coach and walking tour of Austria's largest city. Embark your ship this afternoon and settle into your suite.

Day 2 - Vienna

Spend the day exploring the imperial city of Vienna which finds itself at the very centre of European Culture. Explore Schönbrunn Palace, the UNESCO-recognised Baroque wonder and the Carriage Museum on site, or embark on an electric cycling adventure through many of Vienna’s most beautiful sites. Alternatively, appreciate the Jewish history of Vienna by visiting the private gallery of painter Arik Brauer, who grew up during the Nazi era or make the most of an exclusive early opening of Vienna’s Museum of Fine Arts.

Day 3 - Dürnstein - Melk

Spend the morning in the robust wine-growing region of Dürnstein, explore the enchanting town with a guided walk paying a visit to the Dürnstein Abbey. Alternatively, if you feel like getting more active, enjoy a trek to the ruins of Dürnstein Castle. At midday, set sail for the serene village of Melk. Perhaps discover the charm and history of the Old Town with a guided walking tour including a visit to Melk Abbey which boasts one of the most exquisite examples of Baroque architecture in Europe.

Day 4 - Linz

Once named the European Capital of Culture, the city of Linz has an ancient, medieval city centre surrounded by neoclassical, neo-baroque and neo-Renaissance neighbourhoods and impressive architectural styles. Explore Linz on foot and enjoy a scenic ride by tram to the top of Pöstlingberg hill. Alternatively, take a scenic coach journey to Salzburg, the birthplace of famed composer Mozart for a walking tour of the beautiful city and a chance to savour the city's famous chocolate.

Day 5 - Passau (Germany)

Experience Passau’s charm as you the wander the cobbled streets of Old Town, gaze upon arched bridges and Italianate manses and encounter magnificent St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the New Bishop’s Residence. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city with magnificent views of fascinating sites and a Bavarian beer tasting. Alternatively, take a coach to Munich and experience a day of art and culture as you delve into this fascinating city of prominent history and modern art.

Day 6 - Passau

Spend the morning gaining insightful perspective on what daily life in Passau was like around 2,000 years ago with a Roman Times experience. Set sail for Slovakia this afternoon.

Day 7 - Bratislava (Slovakia)

Arrive in Bratislava this afternoon. The capital city is a historic gem with a maze of narrow, cobblestone streets, beautiful cathedrals and colourful 18th-century buildings. Enjoy a home visit with a local family and learn about the history, culture and local traditions of Slovaki. Or take a panoramic drive through the city to experience the magnificent architecture, charming squares and narrow lanes before enjoying a beer-tasting at a typical Slovakian pub.

Day 8 - Budapest (Hungary)

Arrive in Hungary's world-class, capital city which boasts delightful architecture including charming domes and spires as well as picturesque bridges. Castle Hill is at the top of most visitors’ lists, a UNESCO-listed district which houses Buda Castle, Trinity Square, Matthias Church and Fishermen’s Bastion. Explore beautiful Budapest by coach and on foot or transfer to Puszta and enjoy an exciting horse show with a carriage ride at Lázár Equestrian Park. This evening, experience Crystal's Signature Event; an exclusive performance in the glass-roofed courtyard of majestic Budapest History Museum.

Day 9 - Budapest

Spend the morning exploring Budapest before setting sail for Vienna early-afternoon.

Day 10 - Vienna (Austria)

Cruise into Vienna this evening.

Day 11 - Vienna

Disembark the ship in Vienna.
