Iceland Cruises

Experience nature at its most dynamic and awe-inspiring in Iceland, the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’.

This magical island is still being shaped by mighty forces; geysers gush, volcanoes rumble, waterfalls cascade down majestic mountains and huge glaciers carve great pathways through the landscape. Iceland’s culture is rich and appealing and celebrates a literary legacy that ranges from medieval sagas to Nobel Prize-winning contemporary thrillers, as well as enjoying a lively music scene, contemporary visual art and traditional handicrafts.

About Iceland Cruises

Highlights of cruises to Iceland include the cosmopolitan capital of Reykjavik, home to a cutting-edge art scene, lively nightlife and of course the world-famous Blue Lagoon. The small volcanic island of Heimaey in the remote Westmann archipelago is known as the ‘Pompeii of the north’ due to its volcanic activity and Akureyri’s magnificent green pastures, waterfalls and whale-filled bays are the starting point for excursions to the Godafoss waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland.

From the small town of Isafjordur perhaps explore the fascinating natural history museum then stop by the magnificent Dynjandi Waterfalls or visit the unique Sea Monster Museum in Bildudadur. The Golden Circle is a popular route in South Iceland and takes in the dramatic landscapes of Thingvellir National Park, the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall and the Strokkur geyser which erupts dramatically every few minutes.

Wildlife in Iceland is rich with birdlife making it popular with ornithologists who visit to see dozens of thrilling species of bird during the summer nesting season, including puffins, skuas and kittiwakes. Icelandic waters are rich with marine life, and the summer months are the perfect time to sight humpback whales, orcas and dolphins.

Cruise and Maritime Voyages offer a wide range of no-fly cruises to Iceland from ports around the UK. Fascinating discovery cruises from Voyages of Discovery and Voyages to Antiquity include expert guest speakers to enrich each experience as well offering exciting shore excursions to explore the country’s history, culture and traditions.
